Croatia Day 1/ Day 2
22nd/23rd December 2016
Reached airport in the wee hours at 4.45am to catch a flight to Brussels at 6.35am.
I had a 5 hours stopover at Brussels airport.
It was too short to head over to the city centre, plus i've been there just a year ago.
So we just chilled and ate at the airport while waiting for our flight to Zagreb.
Air tickets cost about: $150

We reached Zagreb airport at about 4.30pm but it was almost dark already.
Collected the car that we rented at the airport and started a 4 hour drive to Split.
It was our first time driving abroad along some of the narrow roads and in the dark,
so it was pretty scary and challenging.
But we made it to our airbnb apartment!

It was a really large apartment with shared bathrooms, living area and kitchen.
During our stay we were the only ones there, so we practically had the entire place to ourselves.
It was a lovely and comfortable house.
We are also able to park the car there for free!

Split was nothing but beautiful(:
Perfect sweater weather, blue skies and by the sea!

Seafood at a restaurant and i had squid ink risotto.
After that, we head up to Marjan Hill.
It has a great view of split's harbour and old city.
You can take a bus up but since we are quite near that area, we walked up instead.
There is a small little church there and a huge park with trails.
Ended the day walking through the old town and Diocletan's Palace.
I bought truffle oil/ mushroom over at the old town,
only to find out it is much cheaper to get it in the supermarket.
(Was pretty sad about it, so yes! do check out the supermarkets for truffle products!)
I also bought a lavender scented pouch over at the market.

It was considered as low season in split and i was contemplating if i should come.
Thankfully i did.
It was indeed good to be here especially when other parts of europe is so cold.
It is also not packed with tourists and i yes, i always like places by the sea.
We watched sunset by the harbour at a bench before heading for dinner.
