Day 1: 09.12.2016
Kick start the first weekend trip out from Warsaw to Sweden- Gothenburg.
I flew by Ryan air, which is at Modlin Airport (Not the main airport).
Booked airport bus tickets which departs in front of Palace of Culture and Science @ Centrum.
Bus ticket cost: 27.20 PLN (approx $10 SGD)
Flight cost: 77.50PLN (approx $29 SGD)

Reached Gothenburg Landvetter airport at about 3.30pm.
Got the gothenburg card-(Winter 48 hours) at the airport
It is not cheap and cost: 335SEK (approx $53 SGD)
We figured out that it is more worth it to get this due to the following reasons:
1. Free public transport network

2. 50% savings on airport transfer to city. It was 195 SEK(approx $32), return tickets.
- Purchase tickets onboard with debit/credit card
(But this actually gives us some trouble, and we have to request for refund)

3. Free entrance to several attractions.
-Do note that quite many attractions are closed during winter.
(However, i got to visit most of the attractions that i want. Specifically Liseberg!)

4. Hop on and off Bus

5. Paddan Christmas tour
- Boat ride to the christmas market (Liseberg)

After dropping off our baggage at our airbnb place, we went to explore our neighbourhood.
We were staying near: Haga Nygata.
It is an area with great selection of cafes/ small shops.

Swedish food for dinner before ending off day one!
Fish soup- (Svenska Fisksoppa),
Cod fish with mashed potatoes.

Sjobaren i Haga
Haga Nygata, Gothenburg 413 01, Sweden
Opening Hours: 11:00 - 2300

Day 2: 10.12.2016
One chocolate that i have been eating throughout my exchange days.
Glad to be seeing these chocolates in supermarket,
Started off by walking around visiting some attractions and searching for food.
Feskekôrka: Seafood Market
The building resemble the church.
Opening Hours: 10:00-18:00

We also visited Saluhallen which is a market hall.
We did some research and know that there will be Food Trucks around.
It is about 5 minutes away from Saluhallen.
These pork buns are from Jinx Food Truck
There are some other food trucks around and we got some sausages and mashed potatoes.
The food were yummy, but the downside is probably eating in the cold.
My hands were freezing and numb from the cold wind and shivering.
We joined the hop on bus after checking our the timings.
It starts from Stora Teatern
Since it was during low seasons, there are no stops in between.
Whole duration is about 50 minutes.
Spotted a cute scene many santa claus around on the bus.
The highlight of the night was to do the Panddan Christmas Tour to Liseberg
It is a boat ride to the christmas market and it will departs from Kungsportsplatsen.
The duration of the ride is about 40 mins.
And there will be a ride every half and hour.

The whole ride was so enjoyable, we were all soaked in the festive mood.
When we reached Liseberg, it was beautiful.
The entire amusement park is lighted up wirh at least 5 millions ferries light.

Reindeer meat kebab.
I think my photos don't do justice to how pretty the place is.
Super glad to be visiting my first christmas market here.
It was very cold, but it was a really amazing night.

  1. Reindeer meat! How did it taste like?

    I have never visited Sweden before... but I don't really like the people there... Maybe I will have a different point of view when I'm there? Btw, you rarely talk about the people there and their cultures in your posts! Would be nice if you made some friends while traveling (other than those in Asia)! Being brave isn't just about exploring places! Its about exploring connections with different people too (;

  2. Reindeer meat actually taste very much like beef!
You can visit Sweden and all the Scandinavia countries some day because it is really different from other European countries!
